Terms for/about Cannabinoids

Cannabinoid/Noid

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant. They are responsible for the various effects of marijuana, including its psychoactive and medicinal properties.

Blend

A "blend" refers to a mixture of different cannabinoids and terps.

Dab

A "dab" is a method of consuming cannabis concentrate. It involves heating a small amount of concentrate on a heated surface and inhaling the vapor. Usually using a quartz banger and a rig

Wax

"Wax" is a bit of a catch-all term that is used to describe almost any kind of concentrate. Traditional wax has a waxy texture, but the term is used far more often to refer to concentrates as a whole.

Shatter

"Shatter" is a type of cannabis concentrate that has a glass-like texture. It is made using a similar process to wax but is purged differently to create a different texture.

BHO

"BHO" stands for butane hash oil, which is a type of cannabis concentrate made using butane as a solvent.

PHO

"PHO" stands for propane hash oil, which is a type of cannabis concentrate made using propane as a solvent.

Rosin

"Rosin" is a type of cannabis concentrate that is made without the use of solvents. It is created by applying pressure and heat to cannabis buds, causing the trichomes to release their oils.

RSO

"RSO" stands for Rick Simpson Oil, which is a type of cannabis oil made using a solvent. It is named after Rick Simpson, who popularized the method of using cannabis oil to treat cancer.

Budder

"Budder" is a type of cannabis concentrate that has a creamy, butter-like texture. It is made using a similar process to wax but is purged differently to create a different texture.

Batter

"Batter" is a type of cannabis concentrate that has a batter-like texture. It is made using a similar process to wax but is purged differently to create a different texture.

Terps/Terpenes

"Terps" or "Terpenes" refer to the aromatic oils that give cannabis its distinct smell and taste. They also have medicinal properties and are believed to contribute to the overall effects of cannabis.

Diamonds

"Diamonds" are a type of cannabis concentrate that consist of crystalline structures. They are made using a similar process to wax, but are purged differently to create a different texture.

Live Resin

"Live Resin" is a type of cannabis concentrate made using fresh, frozen cannabis buds. The extraction process preserves the terpenes and other volatile compounds that can be lost during the drying and curing process.

Live Rosin

"Live Rosin" is a type of cannabis concentrate made using fresh, frozen cannabis buds and a rosin press. It is similar to regular rosin, but made using fresh material.

Distillate

"Distillate" is a type of cannabis concentrate that is made using a distillation process to create a purified and potent product. It is often used in vape cartridges and edibles.

Indica

"Indica" refers to a species of cannabis plant, Cannabis indica, that is typically short and bushy with wide, dark green leaves. Indica plants are known for their high resin production and are often used for making cannabis concentrates. Traditionally, indica strains have been associated with relaxing and sedative effects, and are often used to promote relaxation, relieve pain, and improve sleep. However, in recent years, the effects of cannabis strains have become less closely tied to their indica/sativa classification, as hybridization and crossbreeding have blurred the distinctions between the two.

Sativa "Sativa" refers to a species of cannabis plant, Cannabis sativa, that is typically tall and lanky with narrow, light green leaves. Sativa plants are known for their long flowering times and high THC content. Traditionally, sativa strains have been associated with energizing and uplifting effects, and are often used to promote focus and creativity, and to combat depression and fatigue. However, as with indica strains, the effects of cannabis strains are becoming less predictable and less closely tied to their sativa/indica classification.

Equipment/Other Terms

Rig

A "rig" is a type of water pipe used for consuming cannabis concentrates. It typically consists of a glass water pipe and a nail or banger used for vaporizing the concentrate.

Bong

A "bong" is a type of water pipe used for smoking cannabis flower. It typically consists of a glass or acrylic tube, a bowl for holding the cannabis, and a water chamber that cools and filters the smoke. Can be used for dabs as well.

Banger

A "banger" is a type of nail used for vaporizing cannabis concentrates. It is typically made of quartz and is heated with a torch before being used.

Enail

An "enail" is an electronic device used for heating the nail on a cannabis rig. It eliminates the need for a torch and allows for more precise temperature control.

Carb Cap

A "carb cap" is a tool used for vaporizing cannabis concentrates. It is placed over the nail or banger to trap the vapor and improve the efficiency of the vaporization process.

Spinner Cap

A "spinner cap" is a type of carb cap that spins the concentrate inside the nail or banger, creating more surface area for vaporization.

Terp Balls

"Terp balls" are small glass or ceramic balls that are added to the nail or banger to increase surface area and improve the vaporization process.

Flat top Banger

A "flat top banger" is a type of nail or banger used for vaporizing cannabis concentrates. It has a flat top surface that makes it easier to use with carb caps and other accessories.

Terp Slurper

A "terp slurper" is a type of nail or banger used for vaporizing cannabis concentrates. It has multiple small holes that allow for increased vaporization and improved flavor.

Nail

A "nail" is a type of heating element used for vaporizing cannabis concentrates. It is typically made of quartz or titanium and is heated with a torch before being used.

Jammer

A "jammer" is a type of small glass pipe used for smoking cannabis flower. It is typically handheld and easy to transport.

Qtip

A "Qtip" is a type of cotton swab used for cleaning a cannabis rig or nail after use.

Silicon Slick

A "silicon slick" is a type of container used for storing cannabis concentrates. It is made of non-stick silicone and allows for easy storage and retrieval of the concentrate.

Jar

A "jar" is a type of container used for storing cannabinoids. Most prefer this method of storage

Steamroller

A "steamroller" is a type of handheld pipe used for smoking cannabis flower. It typically has a larger bowl than other handheld pipes, allowing for bigger hits.

Infused Flower

"Infused flower" refers to cannabis flower that has been infused with another canabinoid.

Moonrocks

"Moonrocks" are a type of cannabis product made by coating cannabis flower in oil and then rolling it in kief.

Sprayed flower

"Sprayed flower" refers to cannabis flower that has been sprayed with a different noid using a solvent to make it viscous. Recommended to avoid.

Perc/Percolator

A "perc" or "percolator" is a type of water filtration system used in water pipes and bongs. It helps to cool and filter the smoke before it is inhaled.

Disposable/Dispo

"Disposable" or "dispo" is a term used to describe a type of cannabis vape pen that is meant to be used once and then thrown away. These pens typically come pre-filled with cannabis oil and are popular for their convenience and ease of use.

Grinder

A "grinder" is a tool used to break up cannabis buds into smaller pieces for use in smoking or vaporizing. Grinders typically consist of two interlocking pieces with sharp teeth that shred the cannabis when twisted together. They come in various materials such as metal, plastic or wood.

Binding affinity

"Binding affinity" refers to the degree to which a molecule, such as a drug or neurotransmitter, binds to a receptor. In the context of cannabis, binding affinity is often discussed in relation to the ability of cannabinoids to bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors in the body.

Cannabinoid Receptors

"Cannabinoid receptors" are a type of receptor found throughout the body that interact with endocannabinoids and phytocannabinoids, such as those found in cannabis. There are two main types of cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2, which are thought to play a role in regulating many physiological processes.

CB1

"CB1" refers to a type of cannabinoid receptor found primarily in the brain and nervous system. CB1 receptors are responsible for many of the psychoactive effects of cannabis.

CB2

CB2" refers to a type of cannabinoid receptor found primarily in the immune system and peripheral tissues. CB2 receptors are thought to play a role in regulating inflammation and pain.
